My Lunchbreak today

Ok first you should read this story.

So I brought my lunch today and ate it at my desk while I was working. Then when I had a break in what I was doing I ran to Aldi for some groceries I would need tonight. This took about 15-20 minutes so I did not really have enough time to take the groceries home and I did not want to go back to work after such a short break. So I decided in deffiance of the above article I would go to McDonalds and get an $0.89 42oz regular iced tea.

It was like 1:00 so the drivethrough and parking lot was a mess but I expected that and I was really just killing time. While walking in I realized how hot it was and how good an ice cream cone would be and decided to add that to the order. I got in the shorter line but it was a zoo w/ lots of midleaged woman conversing all arround me and not ordering when they were up. The long line got shorter and shorter then people moved to it and my line took forever. 2 people in front of me messed up their orders and had to pay twice when they forgot stuff.

I stuck to my line and eventually got my way to the front. The cashier took her time before asking for my order then took it and started talking to a coworker. Durring the wait I had gotten hungry and decided I needed a McChicken. My total came to 3.13 and I gave her a 10 and then fished out a nickel and a dime and eventually got her attention and gave her the change. Then she really got inot a conversation with a coworker and tries to give me back 6.88 or something. I explain to her that I gave her 10.15 and should get 7 bills back. She gives me the bills then corrects an earlyer messed up order and I decide the 2 cents she shorted me is not worth my time. The chicken is on the counter before she figures out my change so she needs to fill the drink and make an ice cream. When I orderd she asked if I wanted regular or sweet tea. (Regular) then she makes my ice cream cone and asks again. Still regular tea.

I get my 3 items and start working the ice cream cone over. It was fantastic and made my ride back to work a real treat. But… of course when I get to my desk and sip on my "Hugo" it is crazy sweet and tastes terrible.

So cheep giant drinks is a great thing for consumers, we love them and they trick us into spending 3 times more in the store then we would have otherwise but if McDonalds hires idiots it makes us worry more about a bad experience then the extra callories.
