3 day weekend coming up

"The", you don’t have to work on Monday!  Go have some fun.

Well last night I got home from work and Heath was working on the computer and Peanut was still asleep from his nap. Heath left for a run and I woke up Peanut then got stuff for dinner going.

I pulled 3 frozen pork loin out and got them defrosting and marinading in terriaki and sweat and sour sauce. I found 2 large sweet potatoes and 2 medium regular potatoes and pealed them then tossed them in some boiling water. I got out 3 frozen dinner rolls and put them in the toaster oven. I found a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and got them heating up in a pan.

Then I got ready salad stuff and tossed my newly thawed pork friends on the grill. I drained the potatoes and added in some butter salt and milk then mixed and smashed them a bit with a large plastic spoon. The sweet potatoes got really soft and the white ones were mashed but chunky. I flipped the pork loins then came in to get the final touches on the sides. I set the table and started to put food on the plates. Heath came back from her run and shower and we got Peanut ready for dinner. At last I ran outside and turned off the grill and got the pork loins so we could eat.

It was all good.

After dinner I sat on the couch for a bit and rested then we all loaded up in the Vue to go pick up a bench Heath found on Craigslist. It was at like 75th and highway 7 and took quite a while to get money and get to the house. After the bench we almost went to Cabelas but Peanut and I were not feeling it.

Once home I visited with Jon and Matt for a bit then read Peanut a book about dinosaurs and helped Heath get him in bed. I went back to visit for a while then tried to get to bed early. I watched some Discovery Channel show called Fight Quest about two guys fighting marshal arts all around the world or something.

Not sure what all I am getting into this weekend but we get to keep Peanut and it is going to be really cold out. I have a lot of wood to cut and split and I want to assemble my turkey fryer and possibly give it a test run. Jon, Matt and I talked about the potential for Karaoke or an outside fire and a splitting wood night.

Since I did not do much last night I am going to suplament today’s post with something that has been getting on my nerves lately.

The bathroom across the hall from my office has a new towel dispenser. The old one had the small handle you pull down a few times and then grab the towels. These have been around for a long time and seem to work 99% of the time. I am guessing that some wus complained about the germs that could grow on the handle or something because germs are very scary.

The new hand dryer apparently has a sensor that you must wave in front of for 30 seconds then a 3 inch long piece of towel comes out. I have to pull it off then wave again for another. Then use these to get a couple fingers slightly less wet then give up and leave the bathroom with wet hands.

This is how things go on a good day, 40% of the time I go in there and try to get a towel and it just never comes out. I can see paper in there but no waving will make it come out. Other times I go in and the machine is just spitting out paper ever couple seconds. The bathroom is empty, I’m on the other side of the room using the urinal just watching it pump out paper with no end is sight. Actually this is my favorite time to wash my hands because I can get paper towel just as fast as I used to.

I realize this is an extreme case of auto water/soap/towel things and I have come across a few that work great but most have some sort of annoyance of not enough before they turn off or a sensor that takes forever to find me waving in front of it. I guess I just prefer germs to waiting. I know Stooks and Kevin are afraid of germs but is there a better solution to this problem. (don’t even suggest slow noisy air dryers)
