it was not that dark out

Tonight we have a lot going on so last night was another productive night getting things done for the birthday and the baby and things we just wanted done. I’m kinda pissed at myself for not taking a picture of our dinner but I found something really close on google images so it will have to do.

I got home from work and started on dinner. I poured some rice into a pan and added a can of Rotel tomatoes with the juice and added some Worcestershire sauce and a can of beef broth and green peppers and onions and got it boiling. I got all the veggies and leftovers out of the fridge and started cutting. I cut up a braut and tossed it in and our left over deer steak and celery and pees and shrimp and carrots and some marinara sauce and a can of chicken broth and some milk and let it all slowly simmer in the pan.

Heath and I took turns stirring it or working on our todo list. Heath straitened the house and wrapped presents and I buried the poles of the trampoline and built a little cinder block step to get in easier. Then I got out this bag of bug stuff.

It’s supposed to keep mosquitoes, chiggers, fleas, ticks and 26 other kinds of bugs away. I locked Berry on the deck and got out my spreader and spread.

I did 2 passes along the edge of the house and around Peanut’s climbing tree in the front yard then emptied the rest of the bag in the back. I got all around the house and play set and trampoline and tire swing and under the deck and by our fire pit and really everywhere that people beside me ever are. The directions suggest spraying down the grass and stuff with water afterwords to keep it from blowing and help it dissolve into the ground so I wondered the yard with the hose and got everything wet. Heath came out as I was finishing and said we needed to eat the jambalaya so I headed in and we ate. It looked like the rice had cooked too much to me but it tasted good and Heath was really impressed. I zapped mine with a bit of the rooster sauce and gobbled up two big bowls.

After dinner we headed to Aldi. We needed 1/2 a cart of groceries to replace things we were low/out off and needed ice cream for the party. It was a quick run because Heath had a craigslist meet scheduled. So we unloaded the groceries and loaded Berry in the truck. We met in the Sun fresh parking lot with some mom and Heath examined her breast pump. Heath and I have both been wound up on craigslist lately, her about getting a breast pump and me about…

(just to clarify excited by the content not the all caps)

So Heath looked the pump over good and has plans to look at a couple other before getting her favorite one. Then we headed across the street to minor park. Berry was excited when we showed up and ran a couple full speed circles before heading out down the path. It was not dark at all but in the woods my pictures all look really dark. Berry did some swimming

And we tried to negotiate our way around the muddy trails

The trails started out good with a few bad spots but as we got pretty far in they got really muddy and we gave up and turned around. Heath stayed clean but I gave up and just walked through the middle of the mud.

When we got back to the truck we discovered 5 deer eating in a field.

We headed home and put Berry away and cleaned out the mouse cage and picked up a few things then I fixed the umbrella on the deck and Stephen came over for a drink and to just hang out on the deck for a while. After a few beers we headed to bed.

In the morning we got back after our list and moved the mouse back into Peanut’s room and cleaned up the basement and kitchen and we hung our flag outside and fixed a board on deck railing.
