Big Rush this Morning

Pumpkin showing her “I mean business face”

I got into the office around 5:30 this morning to get some important stuff done before I leave town for the day. I’m all set but leave in about 20 minutes now so I gota rush through my post. I’ll be heading to Jefferson City for this show:

Today join Steve Kraske live from Jefferson City as we talk with St. Louis Post Dispatch Jefferson City bureau reporter Tony Messenger, Kansas City Star Jefferson City correspondent Jason Noble, and Kansas City-area lawmakers Sen. Jolie Justus (D), Speaker Pro-Tem Rep. Bryan Pratt (R), and Rep. Jason Brown (R) about the latest action in the Missouri legislature.

We’ll discuss legislation on the table – from raising taxes, economic development incentives, and autism insurance legislation.  We’ll also look at creating more jobs for Missouri and crafting a budget with less money, and discuss what Missouri Governor Jay Nixon may address in this evening’s State of the State address.

Last night when I got home from work I got busy on my pipes that had frozen. Monday I got some electric tape stuff you wrap around the pipes and plug in when it’s cold and it keeps them from freezing. So I started by taking off a bunch of insulation and then I wrapped the whole mess of pipes near my frozen spot.

I got all the cord wrapped around them and the insulation back up over it and even a little more added then put back most of the ceiling panel.

Then I started cooking dinner with some help from Heath. I got pulled away by the phone to help on some work business and she took over as head chef for the night. She took my plan of cut a bunch of stuff that sounded good to me and toss it in a pan and forced it into a recipe she found on Lynn’s blog.

We didn’t have all the ingredients and ours had several extra ingredients but how can you go wrong with chicken and veggies and siracha. I got the computer problems solved and took over at the end while Heath fed Pumpkin. Our steamed rice finished and we filled bowls and topped it with this orange vegetable chicken stuff.

The recipe was some ginger orange chicken but ours had no ginger. I thought it was really awesome but I think it was a bit too spicy for Heath. We almost killed the whole pan and all the rice and were left with burning lips.

After dinner we packed up and quickly rushed south to a family birthday gathering for Heath’s Aunt and Uncle. We had some cake and ice cream and talked a bit watched some candles get blown out and of course passed around the baby.

Then we headed home and fed Pumpkin and I got all my stuff for this morning ready to go and we got ready for an early bedtime.
