Pops had to work early on Sunday morning. The rest of us slept in late and then Annie took us downtown to breakfast. We went to a popular spot called Gwennie’s.

There was a 20 min or so wait but even with hungry grouchy kids it was worth it. There was stuffed bears and a wishing well and other silly stuff in the restaurant and shortly later there was big piles of hotcakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and French toast on our table.

It was a bit late for breakfast and everyone ate really well. We nearly got through all the food.

After breakfast we went downtown and walked a little ways over to a big farmers market.

There were very few farmers selling any fruit or veggies but there was a lot of crafts and clothes and decorations and stuff. We walked through everything and got some honey and stuff. Then a show was starting in the main area called undercover circus so we had a seat and watched.

It was really funny and everyone enjoyed watching and listening as the performers juggled and performed stunts. After the show we headed back and walked through a touristy part of downtown.

Everyone was still pretty full so we skipped lunch and the girls headed home for a nap. Peanut and I went for a bike ride but he didn’t like it so after a block or 2 we went home. Once he was gone I decided to go for a more ambitious ride and went 4.5 miles out to an aviary park. I walked a little bit but it was getting cool and windy and I was worried about rain so I headed back.

Pops was home from work when I got back and we got busy cooking dinner. Heath and I volunteered to make fish tacos. We lightly breaded and pan fried some halibut and made up a tasty slaw. We also had beans and avocado and after skipping lunch everyone was hungry and got after dinner. It was really good.

We hung out for a bit after dinner and then got the kids ready for bed. Pops was beat and went to bed so Heath and I borrowed Annie’s car and went into town for a date drink.

First we tried a brewery but it had just closed. We drove past another place and then decided to stop at Firehouse Tap room really close to the house. They had a ton of good beers on tap and most were brewed in Alaska. We each got to try 2 pints and we split an order of steamed edamame with sea salt.

Then we headed home and got another couple beers and walked out to the shore. We swatted mosquitos and watched the water for a while. Once the drinks were gone we headed home to bed.
