I can’t believe it is already Friday. Tuesday we went to see Santa and all the stuff at Crown Center. We rushed home from work and got dressed upĀ and kept right on rushing.
We got to Santa before any lines.
Everyone liked the guy this year and were excited to tell him what they wanted.
We let the kids play a bit after doing so well.
Then we went to eat.
Peanut ordered for us
We really like the trains but everyone wanted something better then the overpriced burgers for dinner. So we decided to get dessert, fries and few nuggets.
Dessert showed up first and we dug right in.
Then the train came with our food.
We ate it next.
After dessert and predinner we wondered around playing in the toy store and crayon store and checking things out all over.
We all had a good time. Then we made our way back outside and over to the tree.
The kids played for a while and we took some pictures and talked about the next dinner.
On we way home we drove through Pancho’s for some 24hr Mexican. We took it home and ate it up. Everyone was hungry again and we ate it all up.
Wednesday our new friend Shinichiro moved into our basement. He will be here through part of March and is from Japan. He is here for a special project with the Kansas City crime lab and the crime lab where he lives (I forgot the name but a small island off the south end of Japan).
He came up for dinner and I made rice and curry with a ton of veggies, sausage and meat in it. Everyone ate really well and we shared some mead and beers then took him grocery shopping.
Last night I came in at 6am for the start of our winter fundraiser. Then after work I went to Westport Flea Market for a listening party. We set up a room with speakers, microphones, recorders, a projector, a computer etc. My job was most things technical.
We listened to a super popular 45 min podcast called Serial with a group of like 150 people. It was really cool to get that many people to come listen together. The place was was packed full of people quietly drinking their beers and eating their burgers and listening to radio.
After the show we had a discussion and questions from the audience.
Then we hung out and slowly packed up all the gear and had some beers and talked about how great it all was.
I got home at like 10 and I was exhausted.
