Ok since yesterday was such a terrible day on the site I got two days to cover today. I’m ready for it though and got lots of extra sleep tonight so I should be on my game today.
So 2 nights ago after work I didn’t feel great. I had gotten up too early and was tired so I laid down for a while after work. Then Heath and I went to Wal-mart for soap, shampoo, deodorant and trash bags then went to Papa Murphy’s for a couple pizzas. That night we immediately cooked up some stuffed supreme style pizza that claimed to weigh 5 lbs and felt like it did. Jon and Matt joined us but the pizza was too much for the 4 of us. Derick and Amanda showed up and we headed to the Red balloon.
Of the course of the night we were joined by Shawn, Kevin and Bobby. We all drank the 32oz scooners and squished around a table right up front in the middle. The balloon was fairly crowded that night but our group had a lot of singers and they must have done a good job because they were often getting called up.
(OK get ready for excuses)
first round – It was late, I was tired, 32oz scooners, lots going on, several hours sitting in the same place watching people sing = me not remembering exactly what songs everyone sang or in what order so the pictures and descriptions of them may not be in the right order or be exactly right but I am fairly sure the people did at some point sing this song.
second round – Red balloon is dark, it is smoky, cell phone pictures are never great, my cell phone has no flash, I was sitting too far away for a flash to work well anyway, and I don’t like taking pictures in bars. = dark blurry pictures that all look about the same but it is the best I got. I took lots of pictures that are all black or all black with spots of neon signs that showed up.
The first pictures are Kevin and Stooks. They did a racy version of Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
It’s hard to tell but the first picture is meatloaf and the others are Matt and Kevin.
Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer was done by Heather Bobby and Amanda.
They sounded great but did not have nearly enough hair, fringe, leather or denim.
And Jon did one of his staples Bad Bad Leyroy Brown.
He was well practiced at this song and did great. Bobby left but Amanda and Heath got up again many times for songs like Brown Eyed Girl, Kiss me deadly, I touch myself, Soak up the sun and probably others. Just because I love the song and this album cover I am going to claim this one is from Lita Ford’s Kiss me Deadly.
So we all stayed at the bar way too late and drank too much and talked too loud and cheered too much and just had too much fun. Besides the singing the most memorable thing was probably some drunk guy passing out and hitting the floor with his head very hard. He made quite the thunk and we got in trouble for trying to help him instead of giving him air.
The next day I went to work and was busy and hung over and constantly looking at my watch for when I could go home. Once home I took some Tylenol and drank some water and watched some tv for a while then did a favor for my mom, sister and brother and went out for a Craigslist post. I stopped by the bank then went to the house. It was nice but small and the yard was covered in flowerpots and gardening supplies and I could hear lots of dogs barking when I rang the door. She took me out back and showed me a…
….
extra
large
dog crate.
and I agreed to buy it for my sister for $25. Her post had mentioned several other smaller crates but she had told me on the phone they were like $45 each and I asked if she would come down on one and sell me 2. We went to the garage and started looking at the crates. The dog/flower lady had tons of them and talked like she was in the business of selling them. "Ohh I usually get x for this kind and I get x for that kind" Anyhow we found another extra large one and after some going back and forth she agreed to give me both for $60. This is what my mom had wanted to pay so I was happy to get them both taken care of and happy to get out of this house and go home.
Once home Heath and I ate salad w/ chicken, leftover pizza and ice cream and laid on the couch for a while then watched tv in bed for a while. Lucky for us there was a new My Name is Earl and then an Office Marathon so we were entertained until we fell asleep.
