Bobby was in the show and dressed like I had never seen before.
Well like most of the time anymore I was in a hurry when I left work. I grabbed a fresh tomato, shorts, a clean shirt and headed to my mom’s house. Heath and mom both met me there and we started grilling some burgers, cutting strawberries and looking at wedding stuff. Mom had a pile of stuff that someone would loan to us for the wedding for Heath to look over.
She picked out what she wanted then we ate some pretty good burgers with mom and my brother Matt. We quickly loaded up the wedding stuff in the truck, and headed to Kohl not far away. Kohls was having some sort of big sale and if my mom put it on her Kohls card she got an additional 30% off. I had never gone to a Kohls and this did not bother my one bit. However I needed to get fit for my new wedding ring and Kohls has a jewelry counter.
I guess I have never mentioned my ring on the site. Well here it is,
or something real similar. The important part is it’s symbol of Heath and my everlasting love or equally cool is the Tungsten Carbide label there and the dull finish. “I’ve never heard of Tungsten Carbide you say?”
Lucky for you I have an answer ready to go:
What is Tungsten Carbide?
On its own, tungsten is a very hard and dense metal, with the highest melting point of all metals – 6,100 degrees Fahrenheit. Alone, tungsten is vulnerable to scratches and damage just like any other metal, it gains its extreme hardness by being combined with a carbon alloy, transforming it into tungsten carbide, with a hardness between 8.5 and 9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. The strength of tungsten carbide has made it widely used for decades in industrial applications – it is four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel and almost impossible to scratch. The resulting metal can be designed into tungsten carbide wedding band rings that are both visually stunning to please the eye and durable enough to withstand everyday use. These rings can only be damaged through extreme measures, such as abrasion from diamonds or being struck with a hammer.
So anyway Heath shopped for what seemed like weeks but somehow we got out of Kohls at 7 and rushed home. Amanda was there and fixed us a drink. Then we headed down to Jon’s and picked him up and continued on North a ways. Shortly before 8 we arrived at the Just of Broadway Theater. There was a line to get in and we had a few minutes so we had a quick beer in the parking lot then bought our tickets and found some good seats off to the side but in the front.
Our friend Bobby (Derricks GF) was in the show and the motivation behind us seeing it. The show was called Miss. BEU 2008 I think and will be performed each night from last night until Saturday.
The show was poking fun at beauty contests and being sexy. It lasted about 90 minutes and had maybe 8 very talented dancers/actress. I don’t want to ruin the show for anyone by telling what happens but I will say it was a lot more fun then I expected and very entertaining. Of course it is hard not to be entertained when pasties are involved for anything.
After the show we hung out in the parking lot and had a beer. Then we headed to the martini corner district and stopped in at Tower Tavern for some drinks and trivia night. We were late for the trivia but they let us join in as a new team and try to catch up. I think it was like 4800 to 2500 to 0 when we showed up. When we left it was probably like 10,000 to 14,000 to 800. It was probably the worst trivia performance any 4 people have ever put forth. We got 2 questions right and one of them the bartender told us and Jon got the other.
Once the game was over we headed home. I cooked up a pile of eggs and random stuff then ate and went to bed. Stooks Heath and Amanda did some karaoke or something for a while longer.
