We were still catching up on sleep from our drive and slept in late. Once up we ate some breakfast and then headed out to the beach. It was really nice and sunny out and the water was still calm.
We swam and splashed some but spent most of the time building in the sand.
After playing around for a while we started digging 3 really deep connected tunnels.
Once they were all connected and cleared out we blocked them off with buckets and then piled up a bunch of sand.
We spent all morning working together on our castle on top of the caverns.
It was super cool and a hoseshoe crab even decided to live there.
Spoiler Alert: Stinky Bob (the crab) was already dead
Pumpkin refused to help build our castle and eventually recruited Heath to help her build castles she could smash.
We cleaned up and got some lunch and made the kids rest. In the afternoon we all got dressed up and then headed to my cousin’s wedding. We started out with a bunch of pictures for the photographer and some for us.
It got cloudy and a bit windy and the pictures did not turn out as well as the night before. Pumpkin was a little grumpy at first but then warmed up and I think the real photographers will have some great pictures.
Bean was a bit grumpy and never could get cheered up. Heath eventually took her away from the crowd.
Then the wedding started and Pumpkin did a great job being the flower girl.
The ceremony was really nice and pretty brief. Bean calmed down and Heath got to come sit down with us for most of it.
After the wedding we headed a few feet over to a restaurant for the reception. We had drinks and appetizers and the girls started dancing right away.
We had a great meal with tons of stuff and had a lot of fun at the reception.
The girls danced really hard until they were exhausted and then we took them to bed.
We got all the kids in bed and then the rest of the family came home and we all piled around a table and continued drinking and telling stories. We ended up staying up late and having a lot of fun and got to know our cousins better. It was great.
