At the end of the day Friday our fundraiser at work ended and I packed everything away for the next 6 months. Pumpkin came by and helped me clean up. She works for cupcakes and rides on the dolly.
We got home late and Heath and Lily were there making humus and hanging out with friends. It was really nice out so we went outside and let all the kids play and had a couple beers. I didn’t take any pictures but they played on the swings and trampoline and stuff. Eventually we went inside and ate some dinner and watched/listened to Disney movie songs through the chrome-cast until bedtime.
I woke up too early and could not get back to sleep so got busy working. I moved a couple loads of split wood from a pile in the front to a stack in the back. I cleaned up stuff in the front and back and set up a tent.
and a fire-pit.
When the girls got up we ate breakfast, got them dressed and took them to a playgroup thing at Heath’s work. While everyone was gone I ran to the store for a gascap for my saw, Aldi for some groceries and then cut up the giant trunk from Stephen’s downed tree. I was just unloading the chunks from the truck when Heath sent a message to come pick up the girls.
Once home I got lunch ready and them eating. Then we laid Bean in bed and had Pumpkin watch a show in our bed. After naptime Heath took Bean to watch Peanuts soccer game and I took Pumpkin to a birthday party a few houses down the street.
It was a camping party. She had fun painting a bird house,
catching fish in the pond,
hanging out by the paper campfire, eating hotdogs and cheetos and playing with the kids. We left the party when our friends started showing up for our backyard camp-out. We got a fire going.
The kids jumped
and danced
and snacked.
Then we loaded up the grill
and ate a good dinner.
The kids were worn out so just as the sun was setting we got out the sticks and marshmallows.
Early on there was an accidental marshmallow fire but it really caught on as a fun thing to do.
Once the fires were put out we applied chocolate and gram crackers and they ate them up.
Then we put the kids to bed and built up the fire. We made some rootbeer floats and enjoyed the weather. Eventually the guys moved to the driveway for our soccer/volleyball game and we played late into the night.
Some of the campers chickened out of camping while watching lightning light up the sky so Pumpkin and I had our tent to ourselves. The temperature was great and it didn’t even start raining until 6:30. We slept though it and woke up around 8:30 and headed into the house.
We got busy making bacon and pancakes with blueberries and chocolate chips.
We ate and our friends went home. I got busy working on the van.
We had a wheel bearing going out and I was not sure if I could DIY or not. I’ve done it once before on Heath’s old Vue and was not able to get the old one off. I was kind of hurting from the night before and lack of sleep but I took my time and got it off.
Then I got the new one and put it on. While I was working Heath and the kids cleaned up some and got lunch and naps. It rained off and on all day but for a few minutes the sun came out and we got all the campout stuff put away and the tent hanging and drying in the garage. The kids had energy to burn so we took them to a playplace for a while before dinner.
After dinner we were beat and went to bed.
