Adam left early for work and the rest of us slept in a bit. Stephanie made up a big batch of biscuits and gravy and we poked around the house.
Heath and I paddled down the lake a ways looking for animals in the canoe.
It was getting really warm out and it was a great ride but we didn’t spot anything. I took Stephanie across the lake in the boat so she could open up her shop
and then came back and watched the kids fish and paddle around in the canoe.
I read my book for a while in the shade and then did some fishing once they moved on. I caught a nice big fish.
I didn’t recognize the fish but everyone called them mud suckers and said they were not great eating. I’m not sure why they were biting lures if they were really mud suckers.
It was really warm and sunny out and Heath and I decided to take the kids for a swim.
The water was freezing and we didn’t last long but it felt good.
We had a few beers and played around the lake most of the day before packing everyone up and heading over to the store.
Stephanie was busy again and Heath took the baby from her and we walked down to a nearby creek to throw in rocks and walked over to a sawmill to look at the logs.
Most of the wood for the houses and other buildings in the area are all from trees cut right in the area and then milled into lumber.
Eventually we got rid of all the customers and she closed the store. We had planned to drive into the nearest town for pizza but found out the pizza place was farther away than we expected. Also we were heading to that town in the morning and figured we could do all stuff we wanted to the next day.
The kids were pretty beat so we headed back and got them some chicken nuggets and stuff cooking right away. We got some halibut fish thawing for us. The kids ate and then we had all the girls take a bubble bath in some lake water in a kiddie pool. It was cold so they mostly splashed and giggled and jumped around.
We put on their pajamas and a movie and let them relax. Adam fried up our fish and Stephanie made a big salad and our dinner was great. We had a few beers and Adam made a bunch of homemade popcorn for the kids and us that was great. We had a few drinks and put the kids to bed and then were so tired that we went shortly after them.
