Heath worked the food truck on Friday and the weather was not great the kids and I checked on Jon and Briana’s new house projects and then picked up some craigslist pallets and then called it a night and stayed home hanging out. Once the girls were in bed Peanut came home and he and I watched the 2nd Star Trek movie.
In the morning the kids and I headed to Gardner and Heath went back to the food truck. I helped replace some vents on my sisters roof while the kids played. We left there and went to Walmart for party supplies. The kids had been really good so we hit up a playplace on the way home for lunch. Once home we all got busy getting ready for a party.
We wrapped presents and got busy making a cake.
Then the girls went to bed and Peanut and I continued to cook and clean and set up a campout birthday in the backyard.
We made a smores cake. Pumpkin baked a devils food cake w/ chocolate chips inside then I iced gram crackers stuck them to the top and flipped it all over.
Then warmed a jar of marshmellow fluff and used that to ice the cake. I froze the cake first so it would be firm enough.
I used chocolate and gram crackers to decorate and then wrote Heath’s name and put in the candles.
The cake ended up tasting really good.
Peanut and I got all the food out then Heath came home, girls got up from naps and friends started coming over.
We grilled dogs and talked and played.
It was really nice out. The Sanders decided to camp too.
Then we brought out the cake and sang.
Somehow this started a 10 minute timer and we ended up singing happy birthday dozens of times over the course of the night.
After cake we did presents
Heath got a new blender and we put it right to use.
As it got dark we got out some cool toys like glow sticks, glow in the dark balloons
and stooks’ Keytar
Bean ended up sleeping in her bed when she would not leave the other kids alone but the rest of us had a good night in the tent. In the morning we made breakfast and cleaned everything up. In the afternoon Granny Donna came over and we went for an early Mexican dinner.
Bean loved the salsa.
Then we drove downtown and went to the sprint center.
It was kind of crazy but we eventually got tickets and got inside for the show.
The kids had a great time but Heath and I expected it to be better. It seemed to us to be a lot smaller then the Shriner circus we saw 4 or so years ago and most of the acts seemed to be like a drill team show.
It was still a lot of fun. We came home and got everyone right to bed.
In the morning the kids and I quickly fixed some breakfast and then brought it into Heath.
We had sweet potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy. That was the end of the weekend and the begining of Heath’s actually birthday.
