The kids and I had Friday off so we started the party Thursday night. We went for a quick bikeride with the girls in the trailer after work and then met up with the Dwyers at Chellys for Mexican dinner. Then we got the girls in bed and played a round of forbidden island.
Once Peanut went to bed Tony stopped by for a drink and then we went to bed when he left. In the morning i did some work on my truck and on the lawn mower then Bean rode in the trailer and I ran her to the auto parts store and back. Then we all put on water shoes and swimsuits and headed to the river.
We were hungry so got a fire going and cooked up some dogs.
We had a nice little picnic.
Then cooled off.
We walked thorough the water upstream a way to a great spot.
Then we spent an hour or so playing.
Then we went home and the girls took naps and I worked some more on the lawn mower and chores. Heath came home and laid down and Peanut and I hopped on bikes.
We rode down to bier co.
Then Heath and the girls joined us.
After a drink we all went to Aldi and stashed the bikes in the van. We got a load of stuff then went home to make dinner.
Aldi randomly had 65L backpacking packs on sale so we picked one up.
Once home me made a couple pizzas.
We experimented with a sweet potato oats crust and a BBQ sauce that worked pretty well together. In the morning Heath and I took turns going for runs and getting snacks prepared.
Then we drove down to my uncles farm.
Once at the farm we got busy working.
and playing
Then we got busy cooking
We had 4 vats of oil for frying things and a grill loaded with dogs. I had a lot of fun cooking.
and tasting. I probably had a full meal before we were done cooking but there was so much food.
So I loaded up a plate.
Once we were all stuffed we started the fireworks.
Then the glow sticks.
Eventually the sun set.
and we did sparklers
Then the big kids did a big firework display that was pretty awesome. There were some really big ones and we were really close to the action.
Then we ate a bit more, packed up leftover bags and headed home. Peanut and Pumpkin got to stay and spend the night but the rest of us rushed home to bed.
Sunday we went for a big run pushing Bean in the stroller and tried to work off some of the greese. We did random stuff around the house and got stuff done then Mike and Julie came over for dinner and we loaded the grill up.
They were about as tired as us so we started early, watched the women’s world cup game and then called it a night and headed to bed.
