It’s been a hot few weeks and we have had a lot of fun in and out of the pool. First we had a birthday party for my brother at his friend’s pool.
It was really fun. The kids got to jump off stuff.
We got to grill some great food.
And after we went into a theater to watch the royals game, sing happy birthday and eat cake.
Shortly later we had our own pool party to celebrate finding a free smoker at Tony’s pool.
We loaded it up with treats.
and while they smoked we relaxed
jumped
and swam
Then we ate.
The next day we took the pool party to Oceans/Worlds of fun.
We had a blast.
Last weekend Drake had a bounce house birthday with some pools.
We had a great time.
The last thing I can call a pool party was going back to Emilie’s pool.
We swam some more and tried grilling pizza again.
This time it worked perfectly.
Not really pool party but to beat the heat and have some fun Tony, Jon and I took the canoe out.
We paddled around and set a bunch of limb lines.
and caught 5 catfish.
We immediately grilled 4 of them right after catching them.
We ate the meat right off the bones and fresh and hot it was so good.
Late that night we all climbed into hammocks and tried out hammock camping.
I slept great but my belly was full of beer and fish so i’m not sure it was a good test. In the morning a storm rolled in early and we quickly packed up and headed out before the water got crazy.
So the 5th fish became a couple sandwiches.
Ok we have done a bunch more not around the water since I last posted.

Both girls got sick and had to stay home with me
Our garden continues to rock
We pulled out all the carrots and potatoes and planted broccoli and kale.
And just today the kids started school.
We had a pretty nice breakfast.
Pumpkin had a great first day of kindergarten and is really excited about everything. She didn’t stop talking about it until there was ice cream to fill her mouth.
