It was a big weekend for Pumpkin.
She had no school Friday and I took the day off but we had membership drive, I had a million things to do and was getting ready for another bunch of days off so we ended up going into work.
We did take a special lunch break and met Heath for sushi train.
Pumpkin does not like fish or seaweed or anything about sushi but she likes special lunches and our guess that the train would pull her in was right.
We watched the train come by a few times and picked out what we wanted then she got to grab our plates as they came around.
She ate a bunch of stuff she liked but her favorite was the calamari.
She was even more into it when we told her it was fried squid. We went back to work and got a lot of stuff done then the membership drive ended and Pumpkin helped us take down the phone room. She helps about every drive but this was the first time she was really helpful. She got under the tables and unhooked all the hard to reach stuff.
After work she went to Spanish and then we went to the community garden and the park and then fried up some catfish nuggets and curly fries. Heath and I got busy making cakes and getting the house ready after the kids were in bed.
In the morning we delayed breakfast and I headed out for a run.
Heath and the girls made protein shakes, got some fruit together, picked up donuts and met me at the park. Then Heath and Berry went for a run while we ate.
and played
We picked Heath and Berry up on the way home then Heath and Bean went to Peanuts soccer game
while Pumpkin and I worked on the todo list.
We rejoined for lunch and a quick Bean nap then we got cleaned up and headed to Fun Run.
We picked up a couple of Pumpkin’s palls on the way.
All 4 girls ran and ran and jumped and played for 4 hours.
They had a blast and worked up an apatite so we took them over to a close pizza buffet for dinner.
Then we headed home and dropped all the girls off at home on the way. We went by the store on the way home for a few party supplies and then went home and got the girls in bed.
Heath and I had a lot to get ready for the party but the most exciting part was the cake. Heath did a bunch of cutting and maneuvering.
We ended up w/ 4 layers that looked like bulls-eyes. Pumpkin had picked out red velvet and cherry cake.
We stacked them with layers of cherry pie filling and cream cheese frosting in the middle.
Then Heath iced it with cheery icing but it was pretty ugly so she got some more cream cheese frosting.
Once she had it cleaned up she loaded the top with cherries.
That night our neighbors had a big circus party and we walked down and had a lot of fun and stayed up way too late. We got up early though and started a big blue strawberry pancake breakfast.
I had a great helper.
She loves to help in the kitchen.
Then we woke up Pumpkin for breakfast in bed.
She loved it an it tasted great.
At 11am we were all ready to party and the house filled with family.
We had a shells and cheese bar w/ great toppings like bacon, green onions, black forest ham and plenty of Izze soda to go around.
After lunch we got out the cake and sang.
The cake looked great but no one knew about the inside.
It was all pretty unstable but tasted and looked great.
Then she opened presents.
After presents everyone headed out and we cleaned up and worked on the house and getting beer in the keg. Then we went to pick up Peanut from his dad and went out to 1 last birthday meal at Chelly’s Mexican. We were stuffed and exhausted after that and headed to bed.
