Tuesday night we had to get everything ready for Thanksgiving weekend. The first thing we did was clean. Then we made a baked potato assembly line.
Pumpkin scrubbed the potatoes with a brush, rinsed them and passed them to Bean (who mostly played in the water).
Bean passed them to Peanut and he wrapped them in foil then got more foil ready for the next one.
They got 25 potatoes ready for me. I was busy doing more important things.
We also made burgers for dinner and then we took down the bunk beds and crib in the girls room and put in the new big bed.
We did some more meal prep and cleaning up and then got busy making dessert. First I thin sliced a bunch of apples.
Then the kids filled in a premade crust with them.
After this pie it was time for Pumpkin and Bean to go try out the new bed.
Then Peanut got busy making apple pie filling. I sliced more apples and made the cinnamon bourbon glaze for the rose pie.
He accidentally mixed instructions for filling and crust so we had a bowl of strange ingrediants. He got the filling done and we mixed it with apples and stuck it in another crust.
We decided to add some stuff to the random bowl and make an apple bread.
Then we watched a couple of episodes of Once upon a Time with Heath while our baked goods went in the oven.
We tasted some bread before bed but it needed to cook a little more. At breakfast it was delicious.
I worked Wednesday and Heath and the kids got the house all clean and the rest of the food ready for our first Thanksgiving. Heath’s mom, grandma and siblings came over for dinner, drinks, dessert and games. It was a lot of fun but we didn’t take any pictures.
