So get in the water
We weekend started off with a fairly calm Friday. I got dinner cooking and Heath and Peanut played “Go Fish” Peanut dominated the first game with some really lucky pulls from the pond.
I joined in and we played a few more game before going to the pet store. Our normal store in Waldo closed so we headed to another one south of our house. We looked over all the fish a bunch and finally decided on 5 blue neon tetra ones, 5 orange tetra ones, and 3 dalmatian something ones. The dalmatians are supposed to reproduce fairly quickly and easily.
My pictures through the fish tank are not very clear but I made a video and it looked good.
We added a bunch of shells and plastic plants to the tank and put the filter back together and moved a few rocks then let the new fish get used to the tank.
While they were getting settled we turned on Star Wars 6 and ate dinner.
We had some fruit and some Mexican dip stuff I made with a bunch of beans, turkey, cheese tomatoes and things. It was pretty good. We only watched 1/2 of the movie before Peanut needed to get to bed.
In the morning we got up early and headed to the zoo. It was a special day for friends of the zoo and we got in an hour and a half early and got a free breakfast.
We also got a free wristband for unlimited rides on the carousel train and tram.
Breakfast was pretty good and we were already hungry so ate a bunch. Then Peanut and I rode the carousel. Afterwords we got in line for the train and rode the whole loop back to where we started.
We got back just in time for the sea lion show.
They were cool but the show did not blow our minds or anything.
After the show we worked our way to see several of the animals and exhibits.
It was getting hot fast so the water fans were probably more popular then the animals.
A little before lunch we worked our way to the exit. When we got there we found a bunch of firefighters showing off their truck.
They let Peanut climb around all over and through it and he thought that was pretty cool. Then we headed home for a few minutes to load up the truck with lunch stuff swimming stuff and car ride stuff. We drove about an hour and a half just past Clinton, MO to Truman Lake. It was a business and pleasure trip Peanut’s mind was focused on getting to the beach but Heath and I had a craigslist add to follow up on. You may have read we are looking at getting some land down there. We got to security gate for the property owners association at the little community we are looking at and checked in early. While waiting for the seller we talked to the staff at the gate and found out about other properties for sale and an auction coming up a the end of the month.
Then our seller showed up and took us to his lots. It was pretty sweet. He has this camper
It sleeps 4 on beds and probably a few more on the floor. It has water, electricity, ac, heat, sewege, shower, toilet and is perfect condition. The owner has taken great care of everything.
There is also this nice shed with electricity and lights and all.
There is a little front deck next to a gravel drive.
And a larger deck out back.
Everything out there is pretty rocky but he has had much of the spot leveled out and filled in with gravel. Its also well shaded. The sellers wife is really sick and he just wants to get rid of the place. We were really impressed with the spot and the setup. It’s a little more $ then we want to spend so we are thinking of looking for someone to split it with. The property owners association dues are $200 a year and taxes are a little over $100 a year. This pays for the security gate that will not let strangers in and gives us access to the swimming pool, fishing lake, water and big showers. If anyone is curious just ask us.
We looked everything over real well and asked the seller everything we could think off then drove around the neighborhood for a bit and finally took Peanut to the beach.
We went to the wrong spot first but eventually found a public beach and spent the rest of the day swimming. The water felt great and it was pretty nice sand.
I was starving so we ate lunch on the beach pretty early on.
Then we worked on a sand castle that turned into a sand complex.
there were several towers and islands and bridges and things.
It ended up to be some sort of viking fort I believe. We swam some more then packed up and Peanut destroyed it and we headed home. We got some tacos to eat on the way.
It was kind of late when we got home so we got Peanut in bed and Heath was not far behind him. I stayed up and played Batman on the Wii for a while. In the morning I made biscuits and gravy then we headed to the school parking lot in our neighborhood. I took the training wheels of Peanuts bike and he easily zipped around.
I was holding him at first and trying to help but he did not need me and just took off. When he is done he just bailed but otherwise he did great with turning and small curbs and breaking and all. It was very impressive. We headed to the fitness trail and I jogged while Peanut rode. It worked good but was hot and we both got sweaty and tired.
Then we headed home and Heath headed to a shower. Peanut and I went to Aldi to load up on fruits and veggies and a few other things. Then we packed up the van and headed to the river with my mom and sister.
The water was great and both the people and the dogs loved it.
They swam in circles giving Peanut rides.
or just ran through the shallow areas. We squirted water guns
and horsed around
A little after 4 we packed up everything and headed home. Peanut and I showered then I got some dinner cooked. Heath joined us and we ate and watched the rest of Return of the Jedi before heading to bed.
