Some pictures are not from last night but earlier this week. I forgot to get the pictures off the camera this morning. The dark and rain made me have a really slow start this morning.

Last night we made an aldi trip and got a bunch of groceries.

Then we ate leftover lasagna. Izzy took a bath and read stories and went to bed. Heath and I worked on computers and ipads and watched some tv and played with the camera and her belly.

This morning I got up early and made smoothies and read my book because I was still not really feeling healthy enough to split like I had hoped. Heath and Izzy slept in a little then I moved Izzy and they helped each other get going.

Once up they woke the baby up with some kisses.

They took showers and got dressed and off we went.

Last night our Parents as Teacher lady came over and hung out for almost 2 hours and ate dinner and everything with us. Before she got there I got a lasagna I had prepared earlier heating up and made a salad and warmed up garlic toast while Izzy played Ipad.

That was about it for the night. We ate and talked about Izzy then everyone went to bed.

I forgot to mention the night before we went to the Well right after work and tasted some of the Boulevard Chocolate Ale that took over the city. The beer was nothing special but the weather and humus on the roof was awesome. It was a really quick beer and appetizer and then we rushed off to dance class.

This week went as bad as the week before. We could not get Izzy to participate, even with us in the room or holding her hand. She just screamed and wanted to go home even if we said dance or bed she choose bed. We have no idea how dance went from something she wanted to do every day to terrifying. So we had paid for a month and the month was up. Izzy is retiring for a few months.

Even though neither of us were wild about it Heath still got a bottle of Chocolate Ale yesterday and I took a picture of it next to 2 beers that I am much more excited to drink.

The Tank 7 is the best boulevard stuff I have ever tasted. The Bourbon Barrel Quad is another rare one that I have not tried yet. It is over 11% alcohol and I am expecting it to be amazing.

Okay enough for today.

I thought about doing some sort of poll to guess what meat I used in them but we have too much to do today. It was not beef, chicken, pork, deer, or shrimp. Here is a closer look of the meat in a pan with taco seasoning and onions.

I’ll tell you what it was at the end.

So the pinewood derby.

The track had 3 lanes,

32 feet of downhill track and then little lights went off at the bottom to determine what place they are in.

Each kid raced 9 times against whomever they wanted.

Then they took a break and let non legal cars race while they found the top 3 kids of each den. Then those 3 raced. Then the top 3 of all raced.

I think Grant got 1st three times, 2nd four times and 3rd two times. He did good but not fast enough to race again.

Izzy and Grant’s brother watched some and then played cars and trains.

At some point we went to the park.

Alli and Jon came over and the girls played on the trampoline.

We played play dough.

And finger painted

And colored.

We also got new dryer on craigslist that drys so much faster then our old dryer and is quieter and has a working timer. We did some cleaning, lots of laundry and even a little work on the kitchen remod by adding electrical outlet to the bar and getting rid of the old vent hood. Heath and I were both sick for parts of it and we got through a whole season of Weeds laying around, watched several movies and we both read a bunch of Game of Thrones on our phones.

Okay last night’s dinner. In reverse. I forgot to get a picture of my plate but it looked and tasted great. Izzy and Heath cleaned their plates before I mentioned what the mystery meat was.  Here was the crockpot before it started cooking. I didn’t have enchilada sauce so I melted cream cheese and blended it with a can of diced tomatoes and seasoning and then poured that on top.

Now you can see why I didn’t tell Heath what I had put in the enchiladas until she was done. And the lid of the jar we got from Alaska.

It’s a little tough to read in the picture if you either don’t see pictures when you read my posts or can’t read what the meat was let me know, I’m curious about my users experience.

We rushed to get our stuff together after work and then headed to the park. It seemed like a really nice day out and the kids were excited. When we got there I discovered there was a cold wind blowing that made it not so nice. Once there Izzy would not play and just wanted to be held, I tried reasoning with her that if she was not going to play we were going home an she didn’t seem to care. Grant stubbed his toe a few minutes later and had a fit of his own so we called off the park and headed home. I got busy cooking and the kids got busy working at the island.

Izzy had just gone potty and not put back on pants.

Our neighbor came over to visit a bit and the kids all played and got in good moods. Then we sat down to eat.

We had noodles, chicken, black beans, green beans and pineapple and we ate pretty good. Once I finished mine I started reading Harry Potter aloud. Heath started Izzy in a bath.

Then Grant got a shower and I got Izzy in bed. Then Heath read Harry Potter until her voice started to give out. I read the rest and we finished the book. It was a pretty intense ending.

After that Grant went to bed and Heath and I messed around and read and stuff and then got to bed early. This morning I spit wood and made blueberry pancakes.

Izzy and I got home first and opened up the door to some great smells. First I turned off the chicken and opened it up to cool.

It had cooked all day on a bed of red onions, after the insides had been filled with BBQ and porter. Then I opened the mac and cheese and it was not as great. Once opened I smelled burnt cheese, There was a solid ring around the outside of the pan that was burnt and bad. I took out the burnt section and the rest tasted overcooked but otherwise okay.

Then we got corn, beans and pie made. Grant worked on homework and when Kelly and Mom showed up they helped him.

He took a little break to help me make chocolate pudding pie. Kelly had a trunk-full of beer and diapers for us we unloaded. Once Chris showed up we checked out his new car and then sat down to eat. We also warmed up some tortillas soup and I had shredded the chicken at some point so we tossed it on buns with BBQ, provolone and pickles.

Drake watched us eat and did some smiling.

After dinner Drake rolled around on the table some then we played a game and he was mesmerized by the card spitting penguin.

After a few games everyone headed out, I cleaned up the kitchen, Grant cleaned up himself and Heath got Izzy in bed. Then it was Harry Potter time. I had forgot the ipad so we read it on the laptop. We went a little over bedtime and got 2 chapters down so we only have 2 chapters left until we are finished with book 1.

Grant headed to bed, Heath and I made Valentines weekend plans and then we did a bit of reading before bed. In the morning I got a bunch of stuff down from the attic for Felicia’s wedding planning and our baby planning. Then I built a little cinder block ash pit for my wood stove ashes in the backyard. Then I took down some boards I was using in the woodshed to hold up rows a while back. Then I did some more dishes from the night before and got breakfast cooked and a dinner plan made before waking everyone else up.

I picked up Izzy on my way home, dropped her off then ran to Aldi. Izzy played a bit then ate dinner.  I got some groceries and forgot some groceries then picked up Izzy and headed to Tumbling class. Izzy asks about “dance class” all the time and is usually super excited. Last night it was not the case. On the way to class she said she wanted to stay home but I didn’t think much of it. Once at class we took off her coat and shoes and she said she wanted to keep her shoes on. That was fine so I led her into the classroom then waited in the lobby. 2 minutes later she came out screaming that she did not want to go to dance class and she wanted to go home.

We talked a bit in the lobby and eventually she agreed to go into class with me and watch. The kids were dancing and warming up and having a great time and wanted her to join. As soon as I set her down she was screaming again and we went outside and talked some more. We worked out a deal where she could dance then have a snack or she could go home and get ready for bed. She choose dance but once again started crying when we went inside.

I gave up and we headed home with no snacks. She relaxed in a tub bath and seemed immediately back to normal. I have no idea what was up but we think maybe it was Heath not being at class too. I got my dinner ate and the fire going and Heath took Grant’s friend home and then went to PTA. Grant got his dinner ate and a shower taken. Izzy had a couple of late nights and the the whole dance mess so I got her in bed early and she never made any noise so I think she was out quick.

I worked on Jailbreaking my ipad2 real quick then once Grant was ready we read Harry Potter until he needed to go to bed. Then we read a few more pages and he went to bed. I started making mashed potatoes for tonight dinner. I had a big bag from wallmart and they were not that old and felt hard but once they were pealed they were pretty nasty. I pealed a bunch looking for good ones but never found any.  Heath got home and we decided to make home made crockpot mac and cheese instead of mashed potatoes. I got that started then watched House with Heath. Then I read a bit and we went to bed.

This morning I finished making the mac and cheese.

Then I injected a chicken with BBQ sauce and home made porter.

Then I used bisquick and a bottle lid to made a bunch of mini biscuits.

I fried up some cheesy eggs and cut some ham.

The biscuits finished cooking while I built up the fire and showered and then we had little sandwiches for breakfast.

Everyone else got up in good moods and we headed to work and school.

It was a pretty intense night. After work I picked up Izzy and rushed to pile up stuff to load in the van, cook all the ckicken nuggets I could find, get the wood stove going, get rice cooking and anything else needed to get us going. Heath, Grant and Grant’s friend got home and Grant got on his uniform then we all piled into the van and headed to my office. For some reason I had dreams of actually getting some real work started but that did not really happen.  Instead we started getting ready for Den 1.

I put Spongebob up on the computer, got out the dry erase markers and set the kids loose in the conference room while Heath and I tried to round up any one not finding the studios. Eventually we had 7 boys and a handful of parents and the radio station tour began. 

I took the group around the office and talked about the newsroom and offices and then we headed to the on air studio to talk with the announcer about how she kept us on the air. Then we went next door to the talk studio and played Steve Kraske and talked a little bit about how the talk shows work. 

I was really surprised at how much fun the kids were having.

Then Heath, some coworkers and I split the kids into two groups. Half of them helped me run the control board in an empty production studio.

And the other half sat down for a brief interview in front of the mics.

My team made the mic hot, brought up it up to the right level and then Heath had the boys tell their name, their favorite super hero or movie and what they like about scouting. Then my team would bring that mic down and bring the next mic up.

Then everyone traded places.

and we did it all again with the boys learning the other side.

Once it was done I played back their recording and showed them the waveform of their voices and talked about what the loud and soft parts look like and answered a few questions.

Then we had cookies and the kids got some I <3 KCUR buttons and they headed out. The parents seemed super excited about the tour and all and said the kids had a great time. It actually was a lot more fun then I expected.

The kids left and we went back to my office for a little bit so I could get some real work stuff going and then we rushed home. Izzy had snacked the whole time but we gave her a little bean burrito and Heath got her ready for bed.

Meanwhile Grant got showered and in pajamas and I cooked up a quick taco salad fest, crispy tortillas, then refried beans, taco burger meat, cheese, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, celery, cilantro, tomatoes and then topped with cheese, salsa and ranch. Grant had a bean and beef burrito and then just beans and chips. I engulfed mine and then read Harry Potter out loud until Grant’s bedtime.

Once he was done, Heath and I watched the last episode of Game of Thrones. We were really not ready to be out of episodes so I think I may have to start reading it soon.

After our show it was time for bed. I got up early and did a bunch of cleaning and then headed into work early to get the stuff finished I had started after the tour.

I got out pretty late on Friday and Heath had both the kids home and hungry. We decided to use a groupon deal that was about to expire and go to Chelly’s for dinner. Before we left Grant got a coat of primer/paint on his pinewood derby car.

I read him the directions then let him do do it. Then we went to dinner. Heath and I split fajitas for 2 and the kids each got a kids menu item and we owed about $5 and everyone left stuffed. Once home Grant put down a second coat of paint on his pinewood derby car.

We got the kids to bed, I did a bit of packing and preparing and then Heath and I watched Game of Thrones till bedtime.

Saturday morning we got up kind of early, I got the kids fed and then we headed to the Post Office. We got there right after they opened and got our passports applied for. It took about 30 minutes to get them all done and the 1 guy working had quite a line waiting for him when we left.

When we got home Jon and Tony were finishing packing up Tony’s truck. I helped grab the last few things and we headed off to the farm to cut wood. Grant’s car was dry so he could start on the next phase. Heath gave him a sharpie and he drew squigly camo shapes.

Once he had drawn everything he was going to do he got out the paints and filled them in.

I think he really had a good time and it turned out looking great.

Tony, Jon and I got to the farm and it was colder and windy. We checked out a new house Tony’s dad had gotten and an old barn and then got busy warming up.

Last winter we had cut down a huge tree and drug lots and lots of logs up next to the barn. We didn’t get through all of them so this trip was to clean it up. We broke the big logs loose of the frozen ground and then cut them into rounds.

We had 2 chainsaws and a handful of mauls and took turns cutting, moving rounds, splitting wood and stacking.

After working a bit we took a break to make lunch. We had started a fire right away and finally had some good coals. We made burgers and fries.

After lunch we got back after the pile.

We stacked wood in the back of Tony’s truck and then along a fence row and little by little we got everything done. The pile of logs got smaller and the firewood row grew.

Then everything was gone.

We had a nice fire going and decided to hang out by it for a while and drink some beers and burn up the rotten or unruly chunks.

We got all our stuff packed away and mostly stayed close to the hot fire as it got colder and more windy.

We hung out well past dark and ended up drinking all the beers. Luckily we already had dinner warming in a crockpot back at the house.

We ate chili and found a few more beers and then fought with the pellet stove for a while.

We got it going but it never really got super hot. We slept in sleeping bags on the floor in front of it and were quite comfortable.

In the morning we packed up a little bit and headed out. We got breakfast in Cameron on the way home. Jon and I spent the afternoon watching football and the kids. Then Heath and I spent the evening watching football and the kids. We ate the rest of the chili and some other stuff.

We got the kids to bed and after the end of football we went to bed too.

Izzy was hungry on the way home from school. I put her at the island and started putting food in front of her while I cooked dinner. She started with wheat noodles and fruit until brinner was ready. I cooked up Cinnamon pancakes first then sausage, biscuits and warmed up the eggs from the night before.

Heath and Grant got home and we all dug in. Most of the pancakes went fast and we put some vanilla yogurt on them. Heath and I made some sandwiches.

After dinner Izzy and I headed to Walmart and Heath and Grant got ready for scouts. On my backpacking trip I got some sand or something in the old camera and it stopped working. It has about 6 months left on the 2 year warranty so I planned to turn it in. Once there I realized it’s all done on the web and not in the store. Izzy and I still got the other stuff we needed and then headed home.

I’m not really sure what went on at scouts.

Once home Izzy hopped in the sink and I got groceries inside, fire stoked, laundry moved and her clean. Then she went potty and got ready for bed. We read one book in the bathroom and one in her room. Then we told stories and I left. I did some dishes and cleaning and putting away stuff from Walmart. I got online and filed a claim on the camera and then Heath and Grant got home.

Grant got ready for bed and we talked with Felicia for a bit. Then we watched another Game of Thrones before bed.

Before work yesterday we checked in on Baby 3 and things are going well. We have about 7 weeks left. After the appointment we got signed up to deliver at St. Joe and did a little refresher tour.

Izzy had a good day at school, she did great in underpants but did not make it through nap time. So she is going to keep wearing diapers while sleeping for a while. She was in a great mood when I picked her up and on the way home but once in the door she grouchy. We tried food, bath;s, books, games anything to get her in a better mood but she was not having it anything we did she wanted the opposite. After a bath and pajamas we tucked her and baby in on the couch and let the Wonder Pets deal with her. She calmed right down and was great the rest of the night.

She just needed some time to relax and get herself together. During all this confusion Heath and I were trying to get dinner ready. We planned to have quiche but I think we should call it breakfast pie.

In a glass dish I made some Bisquick biscuit dough and spread it out. Then we mixed eggs, ham , cheese and spinich and put it on top and let the whole thing bake.

Once it was almost done we covered it in cheese, baked it a bit more, then sliced it up. The biscuits really took over.

Since Izzy was doing so much better we didn’t want to start things up again so we had TV tray dinner. With the pie we had butternut squash fries and fruit cocktail.

We watched all the Neapolitan Dynamite cartoons from the weekend and Izzy was in a great mood. She ate all her squash and then stole most of Heath’s. We ate up all but one slice of the pie and then I had some cereal.

After dinner we played around with some camera accessories and stuff and looked at some pregnancy picture ideas. Heath put Izzy to bed and then we watched 2 episodes of Game of Thrones.
