That’s all for now.

Friday we made a really good deep dish pizza. Heath Grant and her brother went to see Star Wars.

Izzy started to get sick. Then I got sick and the rest of the weekend we didn’t do much. Heath got a lot of stuff ready for the new baby. Hopefully we are well tomorrow.

It was pretty nice out after work. Heath had tossed a lasagna I made the night before into the oven and some garlic bread so after making a salad and getting Izzy a snack we headed outside to play.

We tried to kick a soccer ball around and climb a tree but Izzy just wanted to color on the snowman remains with chalk. Heath read her book

and I started coloring on the ground and encouraged Izzy to join me.

Before heading back inside we took a few pictures of spring coming.

Right after we went inside my mom showed up for a birthday dinner. Izzy sang and gave her a card and we ate some pretty tasty lasagna. After dinner we headed to Mama’s for some frozen yogurt. It’s one of those fill your bowl with hundreds of whatevers and they pay by weight places.

Izzy and I split, banana, blueberry and angel food cake yogurts with blueberries, pineapple, cherries and a couple fruit snacks. They also gave Izzy a free stuffed animal and we all sat down and enjoyed our dessert.

Once all the yogurt was gone we headed home. I did dishes and Izzy bath in the sink then Heath lathered her up with lotion and put her to bed. We got a bunch of laundry folded and put away then I read until bedtime. This morning I got up early to split but got sucked back into my book and did not make it out.

Ok, busy morning and no time to make a video so you are going to have to help me. go ahead and start this one playing VIDEO now we just need the audio for that. So don’t pay any attention to the video. This morning Izzy was eating breakfast and pandora played that song and she stood on the seat and started dancing. So move your browser window up and down real fast and pretend I made a video of Izzy dancing. You can make it as long as you like.

That was lots of fun right?

Stooks came over last night and we had hamburger helper for dinner. Otherwise it was fairly uneventful tv and such. Heath and I were exhausted from an early morning and got to bed early. This morning we had a T minus 3 weeks baby doc appointment and everything is going great.

Smiles all around

I met Heath and Izzy at Aldi after work. We got a ton of stuff including a couple steaks for dinner. Once home Heath gave Izzy a bath and I grilled and cooked. Once it was done and Izzy was clean we had dinner.

asparagus, strawberries, peas, beans, steaks w/ mushroom gravy, big baked potatoes, spinach and carrots. It was a pretty awesome feast and really all we did for Valentines Day. Izzy ate 2 hot dogs instead of a steak and a bunch of beans, she also had a sweet potato instead of a baked potato.

I used a lot of fresh garlic on the steaks before grilling them and at first I thought it was too much but after a few bites I really liked he bite of the garlic. Everyone finished up with some pretty happy plates.

Izzy played around some then Heath read her a story and brushed teeth then I told her stories in the tent for a little bit. Heath and I relaxed and watched tv and somehow ate a whole valentines ice cream cake thing. It was made for 2 but pretty big and I’m not sure where we found the room for it.

After that we fought off diabetes for a while and that wore us off and we went to sleep.

Izzy got us up at 4 for no apparent reason then she went right back to sleep. We tossed and turned a while and did not go back to sleep. At 5ish we gave up and did some much needed cleaning.

She started out with glove liners on and big waterproof mittens. In no time she was without them.

We put them back on several times but would complain of her hands being hot. First we built the snowman.

I had never seen a butterfly net used in snowman creation before.

Once he was mostly built…

we got out the sled and I ran around the front yard pulling Izzy.

Then I got worn out so we worked out a deal.

Then Izzy pulled me around.

We had a nice hill in the backyard so we gave up on pulling and went for the hill.

Then Izzy jumped on the snow trampoline for a bit.

I put away that sled and got out a disk.

It worked great.

Izzy would sled down the hill and I would run along side her and catch her before she would crash.

Then we would run back up the hill for another trip.

We got hungry and I got tired so we decided to finish up the snowman and come inside.We gave him my hat filled with snow.

Then we made Heath give up the camera and come pose.

Heath gave Izzy a nice warm bath and I threw together a quick random dinner.

corn bread, sweet potato chips, fish sticks, peas and pinto beans. We were hungry and dug right in.

After dinner we played and looked out the window at the snowman and then read some books and got Izzy in bed. Heath, Felicia and I watched 2 episodes of House then I read until bedtime.

Friday after work we did some last minute packing and preparations. I had cooked a roast in the crock pot and the house smelled pretty awesome. Felicia came home from work and we got Izzy started eating and we tossed some roast in Tupperware for us and headed out leaving Izzy with Felicia and Tony for the weekend. Heath and I drove north for 30 minutes or so.

We had booked a suite in Kearney. We didn’t really seek Kearney out but we found a relatively cheep room with a 2 person jacuzzi tub.

Once we got checked in and all we were really pleased with the room.  The tub was the big draw but the room was giant and had a fridge and microwave, big tv, recliner and two sinks.

We got settled in and had our dinner and watched some movies from the tub. Later on we went out a bar and grill. Well first we went to the bar and discovered it full of smoke so we headed nextdoor to the restaurant and split some nachos. Saturday we had a pretty good continental breakfast after sleeping in then spent the whole day in the room. We watched a lot of tv and movies and read a bunch. For dinner we went out into the cold and got some pizza from an Italian place. We stayed up late and slept in past breakfast on Sunday. We got up in time for one more tub show then checked out right at final checkout.

We headed to Smithville Lake. We parked at a trail and got busy hiking.

When we left the van in was 28F but sunny and no wind and felt much warmer then it had been.

We headed down to the water and checked out the ice.

We hiked around for about an hour and then headed back to the car. We saw some Hawks but not much else.

It was 32F when we got back to the car and we headed back South. We headed to the KC Rep’s Tom Sawyer play. On the way we got some Subway sandwiches and then made it just in time. The play was okay. Then we headed home and gave Izzy lots of hugs.

It sounded like she had a really full fun weekend with Tony and Felicia.

They played all over the place with all sorts of people. We all went to Lews for burgers and stories and it was really good. Then Izzy got ready for bed and we watched a bit of tv and read some then went to bed.

I got out of work late but was the first one home so got busy cooking tacos.

Heath and Izzy got the table set and it did not take long to get dinner ready.

Then we all dug right in.

After dinner Izzy took a quick sink bubble bath and then got on pajamas and Jon. Amanda and Alli came over. They left Alli to play and Heath and Grant went to science night at his school so it was me and the 2 year olds. They had a snack and played with a recorder.

And then ran around the couches and played while listening to music. This was the most fun and the girls did a lot of laughing.  Then we got Izzy’s pull up on and Alli’s pajamas. We read some books and got Izzy tucked in. Izzy did a great job until she realized she and Alli would not both be in her tent. Then she got really angry.

I got Alli tucked in and Felicia came home and we talked about the weekend a bit. Then I realized Alli had no diaper on so we put on new pajamas and a diaper and got her all tucked in again. Then I did some packing and cleaning for the weekend. Heath and Grant came home and got ready for bed.

This morning I got up early and did more cleaning up then Izzy got up early and helped me put together an awesome roast and get everything ready for the day.

We had pre baby doc appointment this morning. I got Grant to school early and then Izzy wished us luck before we dropped her at daycare.

The appointment went well. Heartbeat and size and everything was right on track and going well. So far we have been staying pretty relaxed.

Last night when we got home Izzy ate raisins and we got the fire built up and started making dinner. While waiting for the rice to cook she got busy coloring.

Grant did some final touches on his valentines box.

Then dinner was ready and Heath dished us up.

It was a chineese chicken deal with a honey orange sauce on crispy chicken. I expected the kiddos to love it.

They thought the same thing.

But somehow they did not like the chicken and focused their eating on rice, shrimp and veggies. I liked it though and even had seconds.

After dinner the kids took baths and showers and I did a few random chores and then got pinned to the couch with my book. Heath got Izzy in bed and Grant played iPad until bedtime. I read until my bed time and then this morning finished the first Game of Thrones book.

Kidding of course,  there was just a mini dusting The1st hour after Izzy and I got home I got busy cooking and doing superbowl dishes. Heath and the kids all hung out down stairs, watching Toy Story and playing legos and working and whatever. It took right at an hour to get the dishes all done and breakfast all cooked. The country potatoes took the longest and we also had sausage, french toast (on french bread) and some yogurt with fruit.

The 2nd hour was spent at the dinner table eating.

Both the kids did a good job eating. Izzy didn’t eat all of her french toast but she ate some and sucked all the powdered sugar and syrup off what she didn’t eat. Once our plates were happy I brought out breakfast dessert.

Toaster Stroodles! They were a big hit.

The 3rd hour We finished up and Grant cleared the dishes, He usually has to get all the trash but Izzy volunteered to do that job so we had him rinse the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. Izzy helped/slowed him down by taking a bath at the same time.

Izzy kept stealing the water from the faucet or turning it hot or cold or anything she could think of to mess with him but Grant did a great job. I got Izzy clean and in pajamas and ready for bed.

Once all her stories were over (she requested one about a towel) she went to bed and I headed out.

During the 4th hour I drove to the Tap Room and had some drinks with Stooks.

We had some really tasty beers and enjoyed people watching on Trivia night.

In the 5th hour I headed to work and rebooted some stuff and tried to fix some issues that are best done when no one is working. Then I headed home and hopped in bed.

I was only conscious for a bit of the 6th hour I sent some e-mail from bed then rolled over and fell asleep.

This morning split some wood and looked at the snow. Reheated breakfast leftovers for the kids breakfasts.
