The Psychopathic 5K is a separate out-and-back trail race at 8 a.m., during the
Psycho WyCo Run Toto Run.
Beware: It's the toughest 5K trail run in the Midwest!
Course Description:
Out and back course on rocky, rooty, and
hilly bridle trails & single-track trails. These trails aren't "sissy"
groomed or paved trails; they're the real thing.
Dang El Nino is bringing really nice weather today and tomorrow instead of the foot of snow and Ice I was hoping for. The only part to look forward to now is a really wet muddy trail.
So last night I got home from work and got running stuff on then went next door to help Stephen break into his garage. The opener was not working properly and the key for the door was missing. We got in and did not see any visible problems with the opener so Heath and I went for a run while Stephen got to taking the opener apart. We drove over to a park at like 84th and Oak. There is a playground and a short paved trail that makes a loop. The loop is right alongside some woods and we were betting there would be some snowy trails back in the woods and luckily we were right. Heath and I ran up and down all the wood trails and had to jump logs cross streams dodge branches and just about anything I expect to deal with tomorrow morning.
We tried to take it fairly easy so we would be in good shape for tomorrow so went home after only a mile or two. We checked in on Stephen and the case on the opener was just about open. We could see right away that a plastic gear was totally stripped and no longer doing it's job. (http://www.performance-gear.com/images/proto.JPG looks like the bottom gear in this set up is now smooth)
I headed home to start dinner and had to pork loins dethawed and ready to grill.I covered them in lemon pepper then started some green beans in one pan and a pan of chicken broth boiling in the other.
I found a bag of some sort of pasta called orzo maybe? All the pics of it I can find look like rice but these noodles were bigger and flatter then rice.
Anyhow I tossed the noodles in the broth and added some diced carrots and onions and red pepper. I eventually added some milk and Heath added some hot sauce to the mix.
Then we ate it all and it turned out really good and the noodles were great. We opened a bottle of wine with dinner, some chardonnay that we get at Wal-Mart for $3 a bottle and really like.
After all the food and all the wine Heath watched some American Idol and I played on the computer and tried to convince her to go on a walk. Eventually I did and once we were ready to go we decided to put a couple beers in plastic cups to take on the walk. We ended up at the shopping center at 99th and Holmes and walked by every business looking in the windows as we went. The beers were gone so we went into Creekside Bar and Grill and got a few more beers before walking home.
It was late when we walked home and after a yummy hot dog I was off to bed.
Tonight Grant comes home so our week of living it up is over and we have some fun Grant inspired ideas for the next week.

Slow Day
so where are all the comments. I was looking forward to some good entertainment being stuck home sick.
