more comfortable and more mobile on her tummyHeath and I had a huge pile of dishes from the weekend that we had put off doing. So when I got home from work I got some rice cooking then went and hid from the dishes in the basement. Unfortunately I just found more dishes that needed to come upstairs and be washed. I got all the dishes piled up and taken upstairs and cleaned up and put back together the basement. Heath came home as I was getting the trash and recycles to the garage.
She was hungry so we started on dinner. We had a lot of random leftovers in our fridge and tossed around a few ideas then decided it did not matter what we called it but we would make a pan full of a saucy vegetable and meaty stuff and serve it over steamed rice.
It had a little bit of medium/spicy curry in it so we called it curry. It also had chicken, sausage, crab, egg, celery, zucchini, corn, black beans, green beans, onions, mushrooms and green peppers.
While I was cooking this leftovers pile Heath got the first load of dishes going in the dishwasher and hand washed a bunch of bottles and stuff. Then we ate. After dinner we played with Izzy a bunch and talked about how unmotivated we were. Eventually I got going and got the chain off my chainsaw and got the dishwasher unloaded and a new load inside.
Then we headed to Jon and Amanda's place. We split at the door and I headed to the shop to learn how to sharpen chain saw blades and Heath headed inside to talk about babies and boobs and stuff.
Jon was about 1/2 way through his first chain. He had a little orange tool just like this.

We rolled the chain till just the right spot then tighten it into place then put a little guide down to keep it from twisting then started the grinding wheel and brought it down lightly onto the blade for a second then lifted it and turned off the blade and undid all the guides and clamps and then rotated the chain a bit and started over on the next blade. Once we made it all the way around we adjusted the grinding wheel and did all the blades going the other way. Once everything was sharp we used a hand file to clean each blade up a little bit.
It was a fairly labor intense process but not terribly hard and my first one probably took about 30 minutes but with some practice it should go quicker.
After my chain was done Jon was going to get started on his second but I was feeling pretty beat and ready to get to bed early so I went and found my girls and took them home.
We got everybody fed and in pajamas then headed to bed. Our Time Warner box was all messed up and Heath wanted to watch tv before falling asleep so I had to mess with it a while then got it fixed and went to sleep.
