Finally Back

Well as you know I took off on Friday and went to Chicago to help out Heath with a Chris Cakes event.

We were supposed to drive up all day Friday, work early Saturday morning then drive back getting home early Saturday night. Well some car and beer trouble kept us in IL longer then expected and we did not get home until yesterday afternoon.

Sad News for Aquinas Alum….

I was watching NBC Action News at 10:00 tonight and they had a story on Spc. Dustin Briskey being killed in Iraq recently.  Just thought some of you would like to know.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought he was also a POP alum too??

I didn’t have anything exciting for dinner last night nor am I working on a neat project . . .

Here at work today, two people have solicited high-fives from a guy that put an offer on a house.  Ridiculous.  It’s bad enough just to high-five someone, but I’d say it’s at least 10-15 times worse when you announce "High-five!" in order to get the other person to slap your hand.

I did, however, have a delicious strawberry donut for breakfast.  They were in the breakroom and I might go back for another before they’re gone.

this picture popped up when I typed Mike Haake into google images.

Well if you are here you know we got the site moved. Does anyone have any complaints left? I am going to try to make the photo galleries a bit better and start moving over some pictures and probably set up a link to the old page. I know I have beat this new site/old site conversation to death but now we are here and I want to make the site user freindly and you are the users.

So anyways…

What does this pic have to do with my post???

Read on I promise you won’t find out.

Packin’ it all up

Well I move in 19 days so when it looked like rain last night I decided to get some packing done. Here is my pile of packed boxes so far.

So those of you who have already offered to help you better start training. I am thinking you will need to do some strength training and endurance to get all my stuff out of this house. I was excited to get calls over the weekend from Ben saying he could help move and from Matt saying he could help and I could have his blue couch. I know everyone says this but it’s surprising how much stuff I have packed into this house over the last few years.

Man in wheelchair takes ride on semi’s grill

PAW PAW — The Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post and Van Buren County Central Dispatch began receiving strange reports of a man in a wheelchair being pushed by a semi truck on Wednesday afternoon.

As the truck was leaving a gas station, the 21-year-old man wheeled his chair in front the vehicle and the wheelchair became lodged by its handles in the front grill of the truck. The unwitting truck driver then proceeded to travel west on Red Arrow Highway at speeds of approximately 50 mph.

Police initially thought the report might have been a prank until they started receiving more reports of the situation.

The truck traveled for an estimated four miles unknowingly pushing the man in the wheelchair. The driver then pulled into the Ralph Moyle Trucking Company with wheelchair and occupant still attached. When troopers arrived, they discovered the man was unharmed and unfazed by the incident.

Police approached the driver and advised him of the man in the wheelchair. The driver did not believe them until he stepped out of the truck and saw the man still sitting in the chair.

The young man said it was quite a ride.

One trooper on the scene said it would be possible to work another 90 years in law enforcement and never see an incident such as this one.

Everybody said they are just glad no one was injured.
